Meat Messaging - Demonstration of using slip sheet palletising with Serial Shipping Container Code (SSCC) pallet labels as a replacement for individual carton/ case shipping marks
The demonstration project is based on 24 pallets instead of 700 cartons as the inspection units.
The slip sheet pallet footprint is configured to meet US pallet requirements.
The pallet label is used as the inspection placard, no shipping marks are applied to the cartons/ cases.
The 24 slip sheet pallets are inspected and if all is in order the 24 pallets are stamped US Inspected and Passed.
The time saving for the unloading/ inspection has been shown to be reduced to 1 person for 15 minutes instead of up to 5 people for up to 4 hours.
The linkage between the individual cartons/ cases to each pallet label (Placard) and each pallet to the health certificate and consignment SSCC (the shipping mark) are the key elements of this process.
