Palletising
Meat Messaging - Demonstration of using slip sheet palletising with Serial Shipping Container Code (SSCC) pallet labels as a replacement for individual carton/ case shipping marks
The demonstration project is based on 24 pallets instead of 700 cartons as the inspection units.
- The slip sheet pallet footprint is configured to meet US pallet requirements.
- The pallet label is used as the inspection placard, no shipping marks are applied to the cartons/ cases.
- The 24 slip sheet pallets are inspected and if all is in order the 24 pallets are stamped US Inspected and Passed.
- The time saving for the unloading/ inspection has been shown to be reduced to 1 person for 15 minutes instead of up to 5 people for up to 4 hours.
The linkage between the individual cartons/ cases to each pallet label (Placard) and each pallet to the health certificate and consignment SSCC (the shipping mark) are the key elements of this process.
